It is important to us that you feel at home with us and that your stay is a pleasant experience. Therefore, we would like to familiarise you with our house and the offers in Vals. Here you will find a lot of valuable information.

General Information

Arrival

Our rooms are usually ready for occupancy from 1:00 p.m. onwards.

Departure

On the day of departure we kindly ask you to vacate your room by 11:00 a.m. at the latest. Are you spending a few more hours in Vals? You are welcome to leave your luggage in our ski room until departure. You can also leave your car in our hotel car park for a few hours.

Alarm

The entire main building is equipped with a modern fire alarm system. In the event of an alarm, we ask you to remain calm. An escape plan is attached to the room door. In the event of an alarm, the escape routes are well signposted and illuminated.

Doctor

You will find the village doctor, Dr. Ingo Kaczmarek, in Vals in the Glüs Centre. Make your appointment by calling +41 81 935 16 44.

Emergencies

For medical emergencies contact Dr. Ingo Kaczmarek or dial the emergency number 144.

Pharmacy

Unfortunately there is no pharmacy in Vals. Medication can be obtained directly from the doctor, Dr. Ingo Kaczmarek in Vals.

Monday - Friday: 9.00-12.00 & 14.00- 17.00,
closed on Wednesday afternoon

The nearest pharmacies in the area are in Ilanz. For opening hours and location information please contact the reception.

Car rental

The Piz-Aul Garage Vals has a small number of cars available for hire.

Bed linen & towels

The rule also applies in our hotel: if the towel is hanging on the rail in the bathroom, it will not be changed, if it is lying on the floor or in the shower we will be happy to provide you with new towels. If you wish to have your bed linen changed please let the reception know.

Payment / Check-out / Luggage storage

The reception is open from 8.00 in the morning. If you are leaving early in the morning, you can of course pay the bill in advance at any time during your stay (until 22.00h).

We prefer cash payments as well as Post or Maestro cards. Mastercard and Visacard are accepted.

Bank / ATM

You can reach the Graubündner Kantonalbank, as well as the Raiffeisen-Bank, in two minutes on foot, just over the village bridge on the right.


Church services

Church services are held in the Peter & Paul parish church on the village square. The times of mass can be found in the parish bulletin or in the "Tschifera".

Diet / Allergies

If you are allergic to certain foods, please let us know in advance at the reception or in the restaurant. We will gladly try to adapt the meals accordingly.

We will be happy to print out the desired document for you.

E-bikes

You have the possibility to rent e-bikes for exploring the mountains of Vals. Either for half a day or a whole day.
The shelter for bicycles is located behind the main building.
 

Games

To play the number one Swiss national sport, you will find Jass cards and other board games in the bar.
 

Hygiene articles

Did you leave your toothbrush, toothpaste, razor or similar items at home? Perhaps we have the missing product at the reception.

Laundry service

We offer a cleaning service for your laundry at moderate prices. Please contact the reception for this service.

Luggage

Do you have heavy luggage that we can help you with, or do you need your suitcases sent to the post office? We will be happy to help you with this.
 

Newspapers, Books & Magazines

The latest daily newspapers are available in the lobby and in the bar. You will also find a selection of magazines in the lobby, as well as books on topics such as architecture and Vals.

Pillows & blankets

We will be happy to bring you extra pillows, blankets or woollen blankets on request.

Parking

The Alpina provides free parking during your stay. These are located behind the main house and next to our guest house "Gasselti". For reasons of space, we kindly ask you to park as close as possible.

 

Power adapter

Does your electronic device not fit into the Swiss power socket? We have a limited number of adapters at the reception which you can borrow for a deposit fee.

Repairs

We are grateful for reports of damage and defects. Please report to the reception and we will arrange for the damage to be repaired.
 

Reception

The reception is located on the ground floor, telephone number 21 and is open from 08.00 to at least 22.00 hours. If the reception is not manned, you can reach us at any time on number 22. For urgent matters at night, please contact us on number 23.
 

Restaurants

The dining restaurant is located on the first floor. Breakfast time is from 07.45 to 10.00 (earlier possible by prior arrangement).

Dinner is served from 18.00/18.30 to 20.30. Of course you can also dine "à la carte" with us. A table reservation in advance is recommended.

You can also enjoy delicacies from our kitchen in the Tavern / Bar on the ground floor. Here we also serve smaller dishes for lunch and afternoon snacks.

Room key & access at night

As our reception is not always manned, a two-key system is available to you. The large wooden key is the actual room key. It opens your hotel room. When you leave the hotel, we ask you to put the large key in the key deposit at the reception desk and take the small key with you. This way your room key is blocked and no unauthorised person has access to your hotel room. You can easily carry the small key with you. It opens the main entrance door of the hotel at night.
 

The main building is open daily until at least 10.30 p.m. If you return to the hotel later at night, you will definitely need the small key because only this opens the main entrance of the hotel at night. The entrance door can be opened to the left of the main entrance using the small key.

The night bell is also located to the left of the main entrance.

Room temperatures

Experience has shown that different room temperatures may be required depending on the guest. Please contact us without hesitation if the room temperature is not suitable for you.

Room service

As a three-star hotel, we do not offer room service. In case of illness, however, we will be happy to bring drinks and small meals to your room. Of course you can order drinks in the Bar & Tavern and consume them in your room. In this case, we kindly ask you to use coasters under the glasses to avoid damage to the wood. Thank you very much.
 

Therme Vals

As an Alpina guest you benefit from reduced admission prices to the Therme Vals.
You can purchase tickets for the thermal baths at the special price of CHF 60 (instead of CHF 85). One bath towel per person is included in the price and is available at the thermal baths.

We recommend that you make your spa reservation well in advance. Admission cannot be guaranteed without an early reservation.
NEW: Entries can only be made by guests themselves. You can do this at https://shop.7132.com. Indicate that you are staying in a hotel (guest card) in Vals. When you check in, you will receive the Vals guest card at our reception, which you must show on entry.

Safe

As there are no safes in the hotel rooms, we offer you the possibility of depositing your valuables in the hotel safe at the reception.

Schnider Bed&Breakfast and Café - our partner establishment

The "Schnider" has been our second establishment since summer 2015. It is located on the way to the thermal baths in Vals on the main road and is therefore ideally situated for a snack before or after using the thermal baths or for a snack in between. Enjoy the finest pastries, sandwiches, toasts, salads, soups or coffee specialities and let the "Schnider team" spoil you.

Shopping

Please refer to the "Tschifera" in your room for the exact opening hours of the various shops.

Smoking

We ask for your understanding that smoking is strictly prohibited in all public areas of the hotel as well as in all our hotel rooms. Smokers are welcome to enjoy a cigarette on the sun terrace or in our restaurant terrace on the square. Likewise, "smoking out of the window" is explicitly prohibited in the room. In case of non-compliance, we reserve the right to charge additional cleaning costs or follow-up costs due to the unrentability of the room.

Sun terrace

Between the second and third floors you will find the exit to the sun terrace. This is accessible from spring to autumn, weather permitting. Sun loungers and seating are available.


Sports equipment / shoes

We kindly ask you not to walk on staircases and in the guest rooms with ski or hiking boots. Ski and snowboard racks as well as ski and hiking boot storage can be found in the ski room, to the left of the rear exit.

Taxi

For excursions and transfers, please contact the reception or consult the Valser info booklet "Tschifera".

Telephone

You will find a direct dial telephone in your room. You will find the operation and numbers in your guest folder in your room.

Valser water

Enjoy the bottle of Valser water in your room which we offer free of charge.

Wake-up call

A wake-up call can be set on the television in your room. We also offer a personal wake-up service on request.

WLAN/ WIFI

The password for free access to the ALPINA WLAN network is Dorfplatz80.

If the signal strength in some rooms does not meet your requirements, it is best to surf in the lobby near the entrance area or on the first floor. The signal strength is best in these locations.
