The Alpina Vals is being extended!
We are very pleased to inform you that the long-awaited extension of the ‘Alpina Vals’ has started after a 4-year planning period.
From spring 2025 to autumn 2026, we will be extending the hotel wing at the rear.
Our architect Gion A. Caminada is once again responsible for this renovation.
2026 Season Dates
The expansion of the Alpina Vals will be completed in late fall.
The hotel and our restaurants will be open from July 1 to August 29, 2026. Starting in September, we will have to close the hotel again until it reopens.
During our summer hours, the elevator in the hotel is not yet in operation.
What can you expect in 2026?
You can look forward with us to
- more guest rooms - all with balconies
- a small wellness area with a sauna and steam bath as well as a relaxation room
- an additional lounge to relax in
- a new passenger lift
- Acoustic ceiling in our dining room on the first floor
- new public guest toilets and more.
However, it will be a while before the conversion is completed and during this time, construction work will run parallel to hotel operations at the rear of the building.

Hotel operations during the renovation
The public areas of the hotel are not affected by the renovation and can therefore all be used without restriction. If there is any noise emission during this time, we ask for your understanding.
