Opening periods 2026

We are expanding Alpina Vals – more information can be found here. For this reason, Alpina Vals will be closed from 30 August till around the beginning of December 2026.

During the closure of Alpina Vals, our staff, including the kitchen team, will be working at our second establishment – Schnider Bed & Breakfast and Café – and would be delighted to welcome you, whether as a hotel or restaurant guest.

Hotel & Guesthouse Alpina

Up here in the Grisons mountain village of Vals, we don't need many words. We prefer to act. And we prefer to do everything simply. Simply well.

A few more words? Gladly. Some guests refer to the Hotel & Gusthouse Alpina in Vals as a design hotel because it was renovated by the renowned Graubünden architect Gion A. Caminada. Other guests refer to the Hotel Alpina as a boutique hotel because, with 20 rooms, it is small and fine and is personally managed. By the way, Hotellerie Suisse classifies us with three stars.

2026 Season Dates
The expansion of the Alpina Vals will be completed in late fall.
The hotel and our restaurants will be open from July 1 to August 29, 2026. Starting in September, we will have to close the hotel again until it reopens.
During our summer hours, the elevator in the hotel is not yet in operation.

Our hotel stands open to you to sleep and to dream, to relax and simply to be. Choose between a Caminada room, a comfort room or a standard room.

Good food from here

Enjoy delicious and nutritious food in the restaurant on the first floor with a view of the village square or in the rustic pub & experience interesting conversations in the bar.

Therme Vals

The Therme is only a few minutes walk from the Alpina, and guests of the Hotel & Guesthouse Alpina benefit from reduced admission prices. We wish you: delightful bathing and a good
dialogue with nature and architecture.
